Praire Oaks Fishing Ponds

Fishing, hiking, kayaking, picnicking...and so many other things...it's hard to take all of it in during one visit. Today's visit was all about fishing and getting the first catch of the season...and we did! 

There are a few entrances to the park and to get to the fishing ponds go to the Darby Bend Lakes.  It is a small set of ponds/lakes with trails winding through the park.  We could have easily spent hours in this part of the park fishing.  The ponds are very kid friendly and stocked with fish, which made the kids day.  While the park seemed to be pretty busy, we still had plenty of space to ourselves.  If fishing isn't quite your thing, this area would be a beautiful walk or run and to photograph. 

Pack snacks or a lunch too, because there is plenty of green space to spread out or to grab a picnic table.  We will be back again to explore more areas!
